Thurs - Fields Porch

Yesterday we went up to Pat's to see the changes they had made to the Century farm.  The porch had been torn off years ago and has now been replaced.  Doesn't it look great!  (An above ground pool is planned to be added where the wheelbarrow is sitting)

9th Football vs Perry

# 45   This is the postponed game vs Perry on Labor day.  It was scheduled to be last Friday night before the Varsity game, but was postponed due to over 100 degree weather.  Much better night Monday.

We didn't have programs so here were could know who was who with helmets off.  Still plenty hot for football, but only around 80.  A nice night to sit in the shade and watch.  (Football gear probably not much hotter than catcher gear.)

Game over.  Calvin should have been happy with his playing time.  Only taken out for about 1/2 dozen plays.  No passes got to him in 4 attempts.  Was in on some tackles and forced a fumble, so he had his name announced quite a few times.  They lost, so he'll be critical and thinking what should have been done instead.      Next game - Friday.

Football 2013

Freshman football has started.  We were going to skip last night scrimmage in Panora, but as Teresa and Dave were unavailable to go, we were happy to go. Calvin is #45.  This scrimmage was for Varsity to play the first half and then VJ and ninth.  At the start of second half many of the seniors that hadn't played much yet got to play, so it wasn't true JV.  Later the freshmen got mixed in.  Calvin got in on quite a few plays.  He should have been satisfied.  (Dave's Mother died  in her sleep and Dave found her yesterday morning.  Calvin wanted to go to the scrimmage.  Of course I was ready to go.  We were afraid it would really be hot, but it was a real nice night to sit out and watch.)

Final 2013 Baseball Games

Two games @ Alleman today.  Lost the first and won the second.  Calvin caught both.  Their pitcher the first game controlled things and their team has some good hits too.  The second game we won 12-0.  The tables had turned.  Yes, Calvin's cap is the same as the rest of the team.  Those are sunglasses on top.  (It was an accomplishment to have everyone looking close to the same direction.)
