# 28 Light

After a few days of gloom we have some sun, though it's cold.  This was taken from our kitchen window this morning.  It is cloudy bright to sunny today.  Only 9 degrees at 11:40 a.m.

# 27 Morning

This is what morning brought today.  Our .2 inch of rain, produced a very slick morning.  Pop backed out to go to coffee about 7:00 and pulled back into the garage.  We spent the a.m. taking it easy and watching a few cars turn completely sideways when they tried to stop at the stop sign north of us.   It is now noon and melting.  We haven't gone back out to check it out though.  We still see some ice. 

# 26 Where I Live

This was taken before our January thaw.  We still have snow, but part of the lawn is bare.  That will probably change.  Freezing rain is in the forecast.

# 24 On My Desk

Ok, It's not a desk, but it is functioning as a desk!  It has genealogy stuff spread out and I can turn around from the computer to work there.  My computer "Desk" may have been more correct, but not as interesting, but still covered with stuff. (Not all mine!)_____________And you may have noticed I skipped 'Animal' for yesterday.  I worked Auxiliary at the Hospital gift shop.  And besides--we don't have any animals here at home.  The "animal" I have been thinking about lately is Mary Jane and Jerry's dog.  They have recently moved to town from the farm.  Lady doesn't think she can do her 'business' while on a leash!  Haven't heard for a couple days how it's going by now. 

# 22 Water

Our drinking water - We have used a Brita pitcher for years.  Our water isn't tasty!  The Brita pitcher helps.  Yes, we refill bottles to carry.  (All water outside today is FROZEN!)

# 21 Keys

Anyone that comes in our backdoor will recognize this.  Shirley 'borrows' her own key frequently...  Plus have a few other people's extra keys here also, as well as keys we use.  And a few other things.  (eyeglasses repair kit, clippers, and etc.)

# 20 Cheese

I went back to my Christmas pictures for this one. No one has more of a "Cheese" smile than Mara.  These are a great improvement.  When she was little, as soon as a camera came out, all you got was a frown....

# 19 Candid Shot

Calvin pulling on his shorts.  A habit he has when playing.  I don't know if these long shorts tickle or what.  He rolls the waist, so they aren't as long as some of the kids wear them.  He must not like them long.  He probably doesn't even know he does this.

Mirror in our SUV for viewing the back seat.  Would have been great for transporting little ones.

# 17 Electric

Our newest appliance - a dryer.  Unknown when we bought it, it has a light that comes on when the door is open.  That is great!  Didn't know they had such a thing, but it is real handy.

My 'below freezing' cap.  I wear it when needed , like when the wind is blowing.

My 'below zero' cap.  I haven't warn it yet. I bought it the end of last winter, on sale.  (These match my 'below freezing' coat and my 'below zero' coat.)

Thursday I helped with a Funeral dinner.  Anita brought a Valentine cookie for everyone that helped.  Now I realize the cookie has disappeared!  And I didn't eat it!

Our driveway is clear.  The streets are improving.  We have had a couple days of melting.

# 9 - Advertising

Our weekly Advertising local paper.  Showing here, our one grocery store for the county, not open Sundays.  Substantial rumor has it the Hy-Vee is coming to Jefferson.  Property has been purchased and notice of when residents need to be out is circulating.  Our Fareway is a great store and always busy. 

# 8 - Music

Another ipad picture - I've been trying out Pandora and listening to various music and also 'One Direction' that the CR Granddaughters love. (Ok, now I'm a day ahead!)

# 7 - More TIME, Please

More ____, Please was the assignment.  I want more time in the days, days in the months, whatever.  More things I want to do, then time.  Here is a picture from my ipad.  It shows 2nd cousin, Kent's, family tree on Ancestry.com.  I joined.  Now to have time to use it and get my tree on. And  I want to work on the paper work for joining DAR!

#6 - Chill

This was a couple degrees warmer than when Jerry stepped out to get the paper.  Report was -3 degrees wind chill.  It warmed up enough to melt some and we are supposed to be 40+ for  4 days this week!   Notice my new runner?  A Christmas present from Nancy.  And it's reversible!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

# 5 - Hands

Many of God's creatures have hands of somekind.  He grabs a sunflower seed in his mouth.  Then hangs by his back feet and holds it in his paws/hands to eat.  Taken from my kitchen window of my bird/squirrel feeder.  I see more squirrels than birds lately. 

#4 - Frozen

Mailbox flag - For us, not for the mailperson..(That flag is on the other side.).  It doesn't work when frozen.  Today it is melting some.  When the box is opened to put in the mail, the flag swings up, so from the house we can tell that the mail has gone.  When it freezes to the mailbox it doesn't work.  Most of the days it works just fine.  (The bottom of the flag is only long enough to put under the edge of the mailbox door.  The sawline in the street is why it looks so long in the picture.  Didn't know it was lined up so perfectly until later.)

My Favorite Color is BLUE

Nancy made this to add to my Nativity collection a few years ago.  She knew my favorite color and it hasn't changed!
