Rectory

Ready for demolition.  It hasn't been lived in for over a year.  They were ready to start tearing down, but the gas hadn't been removed yet, so waiting for the power company to do their thing.  Woodwork and etc has been taken.  Looks nice and straight here, but looks are deceiving.  Big houses like this aren't needed for Priests now.  They don't need rooms for housekeeper and bishop visits and so forth anymore. It would have cost far more to get it liveable, than it would be worth.   This house is around 100 years old and from the way it has settled and the height of the lot, Jerry bets dirt was piled there, when the church was built, and the house built on top of the pile.

Hil & Nate

Hil and Nate had a friend take engagement pictures. She shared on facebook, so I'm sharing here for the non facebook users. I had noticed the Iowa State shirt and the Iowa shirt, but just noticed the UNI dog collar.(Their school in common.)

Here you can almost see the ring.  Bet they didn't notice it until afterward or they would have made sure it showed!  The glimpse is eye catching though.

Last JV Football Game for 2014

vs Boone at Grand Junction,  They lost 7-9 after leading 7-2 for most of the game.  Calvin got to play all the defense and about 1/2 the offense.  He is also now long hiker.  Still practicing as the Rams varsity have their final game Friday and a first play off game Wed.  And they need a team to practice against....

One Week Ago

Jefferson has some pretty trees too.

HyVee is going up.  They have increased the size since the first planning.  Also some ground has been sold to McFarland Clinic for their new building.

The new hospital is starting to look like a building too.  So far the Casino is graded and they are putting in underground stuff.  Nothing standing up for pictures yet.
