Spencer Garage Tour
The Old Iron Company Garage tour was Saturday. There were 15 garages on the tour. It was a decent day to be out and about. Here is a picture of a hoist Pop wanted me to take and a lounge in one of the garages. Also it seemed Spencer had more snow than us. Some of our piles are higher, but they have more depth on the ground. Here shows a path between a backdoor and their garage.__________ We enjoyed our tour. They had a few of the same garages as last year, but it was fun to see the changes too.

Jerry's Birthday
Spending Time
We had the days to ourselves. We first got our dirty car washed!!!!! We toured the malls, Michaels, Menards, Barnes and Noble, 1/2 Priced Book Store, Harbor Freight, Kohls, Old Navy, Staples, Toys "R" Us, Verizon, and etc. We ate at various places too. Jerry got a 2 day pass at the Y and got his exercise in. He enjoyed seeing the different machines and people. We drove past their new church that is being built. Our only real schedule was when we picked up Sadie after school. Jill had rides home.(She only need rides there in the mornings.) We practiced spelling words with Sadie. Oh, remember those days! Jill had swimteam practice Wed. after supper. Time flew!
Catching Up
___We returned from Cedar Rapids last evening. The roads were slick, so it took a little longer, but we arrived safely and delivered the girls to Aunt Teresa's. The roads weren't great when we went over Tues. am. (We counted 24 cars in the ditches) I took the first (Bottom picture) after the girls got home from school on Tues. Jill had a swim banquet that evening and Sadie went with us to Iowa City to Applebee's where we met Hil, Dan, and Nancy for supper. We took Hil back and saw her Dorm room. (See Nancy's picture on facebook.)

Happy St. Valentine's Day
The Valentine bouquet and balloons are from Marge. Mom was up and out for Church when I got there today. Pastor Dave from TLC was there today. Looked like he had a good group out for his service. The clergymen take turns for the Sunday afternoon service. The snow picture was taken yesterday afternoon. We have received about 2 more inches of snow since then.

Basketball today
Calvin had three games this morning. They won against Carroll, lost to Ames and than won over Harlan. It was a busy morning of basketball. This little 5th grade team has came along well this past season. I had to get a picture of the shoving match. (This was the Little Cyclone team from Ames.) More pictures on facebook.

Enough? No, More to Follow
We received a couple more inches of snow this morning. The wind picked up a bit around 9:30 so they canceled school, to get out at 11:00. Except bridge got canceled for today too. :( By 11 the snow had stopped, but the country is probably getting enough wind to blow it around. It is really fluffy. It would have been a real pretty snow, if that was all we had on the ground. 4-8 more inches predicted for tomorrow, with wind! I've got a couple good books and a new site of newspaper articles that fit right into my genealogy files. Let it snow!

Gun for Mara
Our dear son, Dan, had to get a gun for his Grandaughter. (Picture borrowed from Nancy) No doubt Mara has seen it shoot. We knew Dan wouldn't be able to wait for toys like this. He would always make it a point to visit all his friends with kids after Christmas, to check out all the new toys. _____________________ Besides I didn't have any new pictures of my own to put on this week. We are getting more snow. Our old, dirty, snow is now covered with a nice white layer. Probably about 4 inches worth and still falling. It is light and fluffy, but no wind now. It's warm enough for snowballs or snowmen, except all the snow under it would make it difficult to roll decent snowballs.
