Sadie's Dance Recital was Saturday in Cedar Rapids.  I drove over for the day.  She loves her dance and it shows!  She was in two numbers and the finale.  Teresa and Hilary had been in Cedar Falls looking for housing for Hil this fall and picked up some cupcakes at a shop there.  We had a "parking lot" picnic and sampled them all.

Memorial Weekend

Happy Memorial Day Everyone! It is a quiet day for us today.
We have had a busy weekend starting Friday afternoon.  First Nancy arrived, then Dan and Bill soon followed, finishing their bike ride from Williamsburg.  They had a busy weekend with other biking friends at the first Annual Bike Festival in Jefferson on Saturday.   Now we have been on our own since noon yesterday.  Pop is gaining strength after being sick all week.  UTI's are no fun.

Honoring the Graduate

Hil graduated from University of Iowa Saturday morning.  Thefamily were there to cheer her on.  Dan and Nancy hosted a get together at their house in the afternoon.  Here Hil is opening a Wood duck plate.  (Wood ducks hold a special place in her heart!)

Wood ducks are special to David too.

Calvin keeps track of all activity.
Jill and Sadie won't be far behind.  They are growing up fast.

Joan and Michael enjoying their day too.

The boys were up too early!!!!  And the day was long from over.  We ate at Phat Daddy's in Marengo and then Pop and I headed west.  The remainder of the group went over to Koszta.
Teresa had always talked about Rolle Bolle, from when she taught at Belle Plaine.  The place was still there and much the same.  This competitive group had a good time. (And they were told the teachers are still over a couple times per year.) (Thanks for the picture, Dan)

And not to forget Bentley.  No longer a puppy.

Breakfast with Marge

We met Marge, Linda and Paul for breakfast at the Uptown Cafe this morning.  Marge came to celebrate her 50th High School class reunion tonight.  Missed you, Ruth!
Calvin had two games in Ames today.  I got to the afternoon game.  Nice sunny day.  Not at all like the game two weeks ago.  They won one and lost one.

Weekend is Here!

___Busy end of the week.  During the week we had the tile on the kitchen floor laid.  Grout was put in Friday morning.  It still needs a couple more scrubbings and refrigerator pushed back in place. We need to get a carpet layer to redo the carpet edge and we'll be pretty well done.  Calvin had a track meet Friday in Perry.  We attended part of that.  Then 2 baseball games today.  We had some items to take back to Lowes and saw one baseball game in the rain.  That one they won. (Calvin had a good game.)  We headed home and I attended the survivor recognition at Relay for Life.  Then headed to Mass in Churdan.  Pop skipped out on the races at Boone.  After a track meet last night and a rainy game today, he decided against going.  (The races were rained out, we see on facebook!  They probably got a few in though.  He feels he made the correct decision.)  We ate out a lot this week with the kitchen being worked on.  Afraid I'll have to start cooking again now.  ___
